I have always been passionate about design for as long as I can remember. I also love helping people; now I get the best of both worlds, I get to do what I love every day, helping people.
Good design and good relationships come from collaboration, and I am always excited to learn about you and make something beautiful together and have fun in the process.
When I'm not brainstorming ideas or furiously typing, you will find me geeking out about my latest obsession with UI/UX design. To use my creativity and passion to design a distinctive brand to help shape and drive your business. It's my mission to empower you to follow your dreams.
At the START of any branding project, I often ask my clients to answer some business-related questions and send examples of work they've seen and liked. This helps me get to know what they really want. Amy's inspiration pieces involved patterns and colours, a mixture of quirky and modern styling. You can see what she was speaking to me in her language — of photography.
Using the client Moodboard, I typically do two or three boards that take inspiration first. I spend a couple of days researching, scanning my favourite sites for inspiration, discuss, add, eliminate and ultimately sort them into a cohesive direction. A good moodboard is as much about each individual image as it is the whole overall look. It’s where I listen and see and hear what a client is responding to — and sometimes, even more importantly, what they hate.
During the process, I start playing with typography, patterns and logo design. At the early stage, I create the first two boards. As you can see, with the first two, it wasn't quite there yet – it lacked some of the depth and dimension incorporated in the final work. The revised board is brighter and bolder; the client loved it!
And FINALLY, the finished identity was a two-colour concept. The brand is visually clean, sharp and modern. The camera shutter mark ads interest and ties in nicely with photography. I designed three logos, the first being the Primary Logo used on Amy's website. The Secondary for Facebook and an alternative for Instagram. I also included are Brand Guidelines which help understand the visual guidelines, voice and brand personality.
